Euanne and Yuan

Two of my friends, who do not know each other, both gave birth at the same week in November.  Coincidentally they both decided to have their babies baptized on the same day, December 3, 2011.  But the biggest coincidence is that these two babies, a girl and a boy, share the same name. What a lucky coincidence! =)

And I'm Back!

It's been quite a while since my last post in this blog.  I have never stopped baking.  It's just that for one reason or another, I can't find the time to post my latest project in this blog.  Anyway, as a way to make-up for the lost time, I am posting here the recent projects I've done, or at least those I have photographed (there were several projects I forgot to take picture of).  I won't be claiming that these were perfect, but these are accomplishments that reminds me always of the reason why I pursued this passion in the first place...

Hello Kitty!

Hello Kitty was my favorite character in Sanrio, and she was my favorite when I was growing up (until Winnie  the Pooh took over).  That is why I was quite excited when my friend's sister ordered these cupcakes.  I am looking forward to doing Hello Kitty again in the future! She's such a sweetie!

Angry Birds... again, again and again

I have already lost count of how many Angry Birds cupcakes I've done for the months of August and September  combined, but these cute birds and their arch nemesis, the pigs, were surely popular with children and adults alike.  Here are the photos of some of the Angry Birds project I've done for the months of August and September.

My second attempt on mini fondant cakes...
(needs more practice, i guess?)

Take 2: Angry Birds Cupcake and Mini cake for Little Jeanna

My 2nd Angry Birds project for the month! Cupcakes plus a Mini Cake with the green pig enemy of the Angry Birds. It was my first time to try decorating a real cake so I wanted to start with a small one.  Again, I am so happy with the outcome of this project.  I'm beginning to get the hang of making angry birds cupcakes.

Angry Birds Cupcakes

I have been meaning to try making Angry Birds theme cupcakes, so when my W@W sis Fei said her hubby Stan would like to order this type of cupcake, I got my reason to try.  Thankfully, it turned out great and was well appreciated by the people who saw it, as well as by the persons who tasted it.

Carrot-Banana-Walnut Cupakes for Euane

This was my first time to experiment on cupcakes by combining Carrots and Banana, the two cupcake flavors that I know my pregnant best friend Ena will love. I made this for the surprise baby shower that we threw for her.  Thankfully she and her baby Euane liked it!

Girly cupcakes of a Sweet Young Lady

My 2nd niece Hannah just turned nine (9) last August 5, 2011.  These girly cupcakes were for her birthday celebration after the feeding program at their church on August 6, 2011, where she and her whole family and some friends volunteered to feed hungry children.  It was a reward to a young lady who has, not only beauty and brains, but also a big charitable heart. =)

Cupcakes for NO Occasions

This was my 2nd try of making a Carrot Walnut cupcake, and this time, even I liked it. (because i'm not a huge fan of Carrot Cakes)  These cupcakes are for my W@W sis Mafeth who's on the family way and just wanted a taste of a homemade carrot cake for the weekend.  I sure am glad that these cupcakes satisfied her cravings. =)
